Mine Closure

Forward planning for mine closure is an important step in assessing project viability. With a proactive approach and appropriate stakeholder consultation, a preliminary Mine Closure Plan (MCP) can be developed and included when project environmental approvals are sought.

Mine Closure Plans should be a dynamic document which evolves throughout the life of the mine, gradually increasing in scope and detail. Early development of an MCP provides valuable information for budgeting, earthworks planning and community liaison.
