Plant Taxonomy
There are approximately 13,000 species of plants in Western Australia and the South-west is considered to be a global biodiversity hot-spot.
Accurate identification of plants is crucial for Environmental Impact Assessment so that legislatively protected species can be identified and cumulative impacts assessed. Misidentification of protected species can result in significant hurdles for projects.
Rachael has more than sixteen years experience in plant taxonomy, specialising in the flora of the Swan Coastal Plain and surrounds. Rachael has significant experience with the flora of the:
-
Geraldton Sandplains
-
Avon Wheatbelt
-
Jarrah forest
-
Warren
-
Mallee
-
Esperance Plains
-
Indian Ocean Territories (Christmas Island)
